Those interested in the pursuit of further knowledge have many choices from which to select. Located in the center of North County, the University of Missouri-St. Louis is a 250-acre campus offering four-year degrees in a variety of areas of study. By far the largest public university in the region, UM-St. Louis enrolls over 15,000 students annually and provides the most university-educated workers in the county.

St. Louis Community College, nestled among the rolling hills of North County, is a two-year school preparing students for university study or serving as a training ground for local businesses. It has taken a leadership role in technical training, computer expertise, teacher education and general education. A nationally recognized art program, chemical technology program and childcare program with a state-of- the-art Child Development Center are all located on the campus. A second technical training center is under construction. Nearly 10,000 students enroll in career, transfer or non-credit courses.

A four-year college, Christian College offers a different venue and a focus on the study of religion. Its complex places an emphasis on moral values and aptitude.
