Richmond Heights MO Transportation

Strategically located at the intersection of Interstates 64 (also known as Highway 40) and 170 (frequently called “the Innerbelt”), Richmond Heights enjoys quick access to many of the area’s top attractions and amenities. Calling the center of St. Louis County home, the city is a short, six-mile drive from downtown St. Louis and all of its major resources.

In addition to easy access to St. Louis Regional Transit’s Metro Bus Service, Richmond Heights residents have convenient access to the MetroLink Cross County Extension. The light rail system includes three stations in close proximity to our city. The Richmond Heights Station is located on Galleria Parkway; the Brentwood Station – which includes multi-level parking – is at Musik Drive and Eager Road; and the Maplewood Station is located on the northeast side of the Manchester and Hanley Road intersection.

Richmond Heights MO Location

In 2009, the award-winning Interstate 64 highway expansion project was completed and opened to traffic. A significant portion of the nine miles of reconstructed roadway runs right through the center of Richmond Heights. The project, which included the reconstruction of the I-64/I-170 interchange near the western end of Richmond Heights and a new, four-way interchange at Big Bend -- took about two years to complete.

All of these transportation options provide efficient access to Lambert-St. Louis Airport. The busy facility, which is comprised of a number of major air carriers, is accessible to air travelers within 20 minutes of Richmond Heights.
