Simply stated, the chamber is business and professional people working together to make the community a better place for everyone to live and work.

Chamber of Commerce members are businesses, organizations and individuals concerned with the socio-economic climate of their community. They have joined together because they know they stand a better chance of getting things done when they speak as one voice. By combining efforts, Chamber members can exert a more powerful influence on those decisions which affect the future of the community and area businesses.

The Chamber is not a governmental agency, but a non-profit corporation supported and financed through the voluntary investments of its members.

As the Chamber works to improve our community’s economy and quality of life, it keeps these broad objectives in mind:

  • To help businesses prosper and grow
  • To increase job opportunities
  • To encourage an orderly expansion and development of all segments of the community
  • To contribute to the overall economic stability of the community
  • To encourage and promote the nation’s private enterprise system of competitive marketing
  • To increase political awareness of local, state and national issues that may affect local businesses

graphicThe Chamber conducts a number of activities to promote its member businesses and to make the City of St. Peters a better place to live, work and do business. Some of the most popular activities of the Chamber include: a Community Prayer Breakfast; Annual Home & Garden and Great Outdoors Show; Progress Business Expo; Career Fair for 8th grade students; Annual Golf Outing; Business Finance Fair; "Ethical Decision Making in the Workplace" seminar for high school seniors; "Golden Apple Awards" to recognize excellence in the teaching profession; Candidate Forums; "Annual Awards Banquet" to recognize individuals who have demonstrated unusual leadership and support for our community; monthly membership meetings; and a monthly "After Hours Business Card Exchange." The Chamber also produces a monthly newsletter - The Chamber Report; and publishes a Buyer’s Guide and Membership Directory which is distributed to 16,000 households.

Any professional or business person who is interested in the prosperity of our community is invited to apply for membership. Membership can be translated into increased profits for the business person and is an excellent way to become acquainted with other prosperous professional people in the St. Peters area.

Mission Statement: The mission of the St. Peters Chamber of Commerce is to provide a leadership role in improving the overall business climate for members through the implementation of programs and services which stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life in the St. Peters area.

graphic The St. Peters REC-PLEX, located next to City Hall, is a 124,000-square-foot facility that provides a family-oriented atmosphere for residents as they participate in the numerous activities available. The structure is equipped with an Olympic-sized swimming pool and diving tower, a leisure pool with a 130-foot water slide and current channel, a whirlpool and sauna, an NHL-sized indoor ice arena and an outdoor ice/inline arena, a gymnasium with an elevated running track and rock-climbing wall, fitness/exercise/weight rooms, locker rooms, food court, ice skate rental, baby-sitting service, and much more. Party packages and instructional classes also are available.

graphicPeople who live inside the St. Peters corporate limits are eligible for discounted annual passes to the REC-PLEX, as well as reduced rates on daily admissions and registration fees for classes and sports leagues.

St. Peters maintains three outdoor public pools and over 580 acres in 19 different parks for its residents to enjoy. The parks are complete with picnic areas, pavilions, gazebos, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, baseball and softball diamonds and soccer fields. Residents can bike or walk on the seven miles of paved trails connecting the parks.

St. Peters Golf Course is located in the western portion of the city at the Interstate 70/Highway 79 junction. This 18-hole public course has 142 acres of rolling, tree-lined fairways. The City also operates an outdoor pool and tennis court on the grounds.
