Trenton is located in the heart of Grundy County at the junction of Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 65, which provides convenient access to virtually anywhere. U.S. Highway 65 runs on a north-south course leading to Des Moines, Iowa (an approximate 2-hour drive), and Kansas City, Missouri (a quick drive of barely two hours covering about 95 miles). Other major routes in the area include Highway 190, 146 and 139 as well as Interstate 35.
In addition to the numerous highways, Trenton has enviable access to several water routes including the Missouri River. Trenton’s city street department maintains the local street system. MODOT (Missouri Department of Transportation) is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the highways that run through Trenton and its surrounding communities.
Trenton Municipal Airport provides local air service and is the only jet-sized airport in the area. The airport has a 4,400 foot lighted runway, provides jet fuel, and has hangar space available for rent. International travelers will find their wings at Kansas City International Airport located in Kansas City, MO.
