A Land of Opportunity
Trenton’s economic base is strong, vital and deeply rooted in the community. Cooperation between the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Trenton, employers both large and small, organizations and individuals lends itself to a solid foundation for current and potential businesses.
Modine Manufacturing and ConAgra are Trenton’s business foundation. Modine Manufacturing produces radiators and other automotive components and has led the area in job growth during the past few years. ConAgra’s focus is food production. In addition to these two companies, Global Instruments provides international trade with products such as pest control devices for homes and businesses. Premium Standard Farms is a very large pork production company in the area which produces high quality pork and processing.
Other area businesses include the Trenton Coca-Cola plant owned by local philanthropist Peter Trombley, K & W Popcorn, Popcorn World, Barnes Greenhouse and Trenton Hardware. Each of these businesses contributes to the community while maintaining a solid reputation. Peter Trombley is well known for generously supporting the community with his time and money. Three generations of the Barnes family have made Barnes Greenhouse a success and Trenton Hardware recently celebrated its 100th year in business.
Whitaker Eads Funeral Home provides funeral services at two lovely locations. In addition, they own and maintain Resthaven Mortuary on the north edge of Trenton.
