Norfolk Worship


The pioneers who settled Norfolk brought strong faith and strong religious beliefs, reflected in the stately and historic houses of worship. Faith remains a big part of community life in Norfolk. Churches sprinkled throughout the community provide a focal point for faith, family gathering, and community service. More than 35 churches represent all major denominations, with Catholic and Lutheran the most prevalent.

The Norfolk community often collaborates for the benefit of its neighbors, showing cooperation and commitment through community projects. Norfolk residents are active members of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Area United Way, Relay for Life, 4-H and the Norfolk Rescue Mission.
