A Beautiful Land
Seward County, Nebraska is a square piece of land — 24 miles each direction for a total of 576-square miles. It is located 60 miles west of the Missouri River and 40 miles south of the great Platte River, primarily in the Big Blue River watershed.
The land undulates gently — a beautiful alternation of graceful, billowy prairie and winding valleys that drift with the timber-fringed streams away into the horizon. Rich in agricultural resources, present keepers of the soil have enhanced the earth’s worth with graceful terraces, soil-saving windbreaks, ponds and shelterbelts of trees.
The climate, while mostly favorable, is always changeable and quite unpredictable and usually the main topic of discussion.
