Cranford, a scenic residential community of North Central New Jersey, is located on the Rahway River in the geographic center of Union County. It covers 4.79 square miles.
Highways and public transit provide excellent access to New York City and other metropolitan centers. Cranford is readily accessible by car and public transportation. The Garden State Parkway skirts Cranford and offers easy connection to major auto routes such as the New Jersey Turnpike, Routes 22, 24, 78 and 80.
New Jersey Transit offers bus service east to Newark and New York City, west to Dunellen, and locally to surrounding towns. New Jersey Transit’s passenger rail service travels westward through Westfield, Fanwood, Plainfield Somerville, Raritan and Phillipsburg. Eastward the line travels through Roselle Park to Newark where trains may be obtained to New York’s Pennsylvania Station.
Newark Airport is within 10 miles of Cranford and is accessible by car or bus.
