For over a century many people, including seven U.S. Presidents, have frequented the City of Long Branch for oceanfront relaxation and recreation on the longest stretch of beach along the Jersey Shore.
Long Branch is located in Monmouth County along the oceanfront. New Jersey Transits North Jersey Coast Line provides service to Newark and New York City. The commute to New York City is approximately 60 minutes. By automobile, Long Branch is 10 minutes east of Garden State Parkway Exit 105. Local bus transportation is by New Jersey Transit.
Long Branch is the largest city in the county of Monmouth. According to the 2000 census, Long Branch has approximately 31,000 residents.
The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce has continued to serve the community for over 68 years representing business in this vibrant City. Long Branch is in the process of a huge redevelopment involving the oceanfront, Ocean Boulevard and the downtown Broadway area. The Chamber has purchased a downtown building and restored it to its former splendor and is proud to be a part of the revival.
The Chamber is well represented on many city boards, including the Urban Enterprise Zone Board, which has installed new pavers and sidewalks in all the commercial areas, revamped the municipal parking lots, improved lighting, façades and street signage, as well as sponsored summer entertainment for the City.
