Long Branch Public Schools have a current enrollment of approximately 5,000 students. Facilities include one preschool (3 and 4 year olds), three primary schools (K-2), three elementary schools (3-5), one Middle School (6-8), and one High School (9-12). The district received a commendation for creating a learning environment that strongly reflects its comprehensive and meaningful philosophy, goals and objectives and a commendation for encouraging students to identify and emulate the characteristics of life-long learners. Our schools have received "Best Practices" recognition for exemplary programs.

The elementary program is augmented by a unique thematic approach to elementary education, by offering a choice of the following magnet programs: Marine Environmental Science, Talented and Visual Performing Arts, Science Computer Technology and Metropolis. The district also offers an accelerated and enriched program for high achievers, and bilingual/ESL programs as needed. The high school stresses high academic standards and features career pathways.

Brookdale Community College has a location in Long Branch and is affiliated with all the State colleges and universities. Monmouth University, a four-year liberal arts university, is located in West Long Branch, within five minutes of Long Branch.
