Strategically situated within Middlesex County, in the heart of central New Jersey, Metuchen is located less than two miles from a number of state’s major arteries, which include the New Jersey Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 287, U.S. Highway 1 and State Highway 27.

Manhattan is a mere 25 miles northwest from Metuchen. Even more, it is easy to commute to Newark, Trenton, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and even the bustling big city of New York by train or bus.

The New Jersey Transit bus routes connect Metuchen and Fords, Plainfield, Perth Amboy, Raritan, Piscataway and Edison from the transit station, serving as a connection point. For those utilizing the train station, there is convenient and plentiful parking. Extra parking spaces have been added throughout the borough and more are to be added in future years.

Located just 15 miles from Metuchen, Newark Liberty International Airport provides readily available air transportation to travelers. In 2011 over 33 million passengers were served through Newark Liberty, flying throughout the U.S. and the rest of North America, as well as Europe, South America and Asia. This facility has been recognized as the fifth-busiest international air gateway in the country.
