Shopping & Dining

Somerset County is home to a diverse variety of shopping venues, featuring big name retailers and unique boutiques. The area’s regional mall, Bridgewater Commons, can be found at the intersection of I-287 and Routes 22 and 202-206 in Bridgewater. More than 170 specialty stores line the walls of Bridgewater Commons’ 900,000 square foot facility, which is anchored by Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Lord & Taylor. Adjacent to the mall is The Village at Bridgewater Commons, a new 94,000 square foot open-air lifestyle center featuring a number of upscale retailers and restaurants.

Antiquers revel in the charming shops of Somerset County, which are teeming with one-of-a-kind treasures. Take a walk through Somerville’s antiques district, where a host of dealers can be discovered. Additional notable local antique sites include Somerville’s Antiques Emporium, a multi-dealer antique center, and in the fall and spring, don’t forget to catch the Rummage Sale at the Far Hills Fair Grounds on Route 512. This rummage sale is the state’s largest and oldest, and stands as a major fundraiser for the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills. The sale spans over 75,000 square feet of bargain items, including clothing, appliances, furniture, antiques and more.

The county is spotted with delicious places to eat, with everything from casual cafes and eateries to fine dining experiences serving up the best in gourmet cuisine. Favorite American fare is intermixed with Italian, Mexican, Asian and much more, ensuring that even the pickiest of eaters will find something to savor.
