Vineland is a stable community whose future is bright, making it a wonderful place to raise children of any age. Educational opportunities range from preschool through college and continuing education. Parents, teachers and leaders in the community have placed a high priority on quality education for its young people.

Vineland Public Schools is a leading educational asset in the community. The district is comprised of eight elementary schools, four middle schools and a two-campus high school, as well as two preschool centers, an alternative school and an adult education center. Joining the school’s rigorous traditional curriculum are novel programs, such as IMPACT, LEAP for especially gifted students, the AVID dual-enrollment program, a bilingual/ESL program, AP courses and an excellent special education program.

To meet the demands of its diversified community, Vineland also hosts institutions supplying alternative learning environments for primary and secondary students. Vineland Public Charter School is a unique K-5 elementary school integrating drama in its core educational program. The Ellison School, an independent preK-8 school, offers an innovative approach to learning outside of the public school realm. And for those looking for parochial education, the community is home to Cumberland Christian School, Our Lady of Mercy Academy and Sacred Heart High School.

Interested in pursuing a technical career after high school? The Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) is a great resource, offering hands-on career-technical training for both high school students and adults. Career areas include Allied Health, Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Law Enforcement, Welding and more. CCTEC also provides special needs programming.

Vineland Careers

Many students right out of high school and adults looking to brush up on their skills attend Cumberland County College (CCC), a comprehensive, two-year community college founded in 1966. It was the first community college in New Jersey and now offers more than 100 career and transfer programs of study in a variety of fields. Each year, more than 4,000 students enroll in associate’s degree and certificate programs, with another 1,000 utilizing CCC’s catalog of professional and continuing education programs. The Vineland campus also hosts several partnerships with universities, allowing students to complete undergraduate and graduate degrees without having to leave home.

Learning is a top priority for the entire region, as students, workers and citizens prepare for today’s competitive environment. Through vision and commitment, Vineland area schools provide an excellent education to all students and work diligently to assure that they are the bridge to the city’s future.
