Government

The City of Vineland is managed by a mayor and city council form of government, with members elected to four-year terms. These forward-thinking leaders work hand-in-hand with community members and local businesses to ensure a high quality of life for all of Vineland.

Various departments, commissions and committees comprise the operations of the city, including economic development, recreation, public works and public safety. Utilities are also offered through the city and its partners. The Vineland Municipal Electric Utility, the only municipally-owned, electric-generating utility in the state, has been providing electric service to residents for over 100 years. The city’s Water Utility is currently responsible for water supply, treatment and distribution. The Landis Sewerage Authority owns and operates an advanced wastewater treatment facility – the largest public wastewater facility in New Jersey that, after treatment, discharges all of the water back to the ground to recharge the aquifer. The authority also utilizes all of the bio-solids produced from wastewater treatment on its own farm.
