From walking trails to sports programs and other activities, the Archdale Parks and Recreation Department offers area residents opportunities for fun and relaxation with over 2 miles of walking trails through serene woodlands.
Seasonal sports for all ages are offered (including volleyball, basketball and softball leagues). Other activities at the center include dance classes, Cheer America and self-defense classes.
Education is not overlooked at Archdale Parks and Recreation, as the facility is used for physical education for home schooled students and a story time for pre-schoolers. The recreation center, which contains 95 acres in Creekside Park, boasts a gymnasium, a senior center, activity rooms, lighted baseball and softball fields, four lighted tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, outdoor basketball court, picnic shelters, a playground, and more. The center has programs and activities for all ages, including exercise classes and a variety of sporting events for seniors, as well as an after-school program and day-camps for kids.
In addition, senior citizens can participate in the Randolph County Senior Games, card games, bingo and day trips sponsored by the recreation center.
The center has recently begun hosting youth softball tournaments bringing young athletes into town to compete at this beautiful facility, a source of pride for the community.
Colonial Country Club boasts an 18-hole, par-71 golf course (designed by Gene Hamm), and offers other country club amenities. The location of Archdale-Trinity is a golfer’s dream, with various courses located nearby in surrounding cities, including Holly Ridge Golf Links. Just a few miles away, Greensboro is home to one of the nation’s major PGA events.
