Welcome to Kernersville

Welcome to Kernersville! We are glad you are here. Located in the Heart of the Triad, Kernersville boasts moderate weather year round and is home to a diverse group of people and businesses who support each other. You will find this to be a very welcoming, engaged community. Located just a short drive from warm beaches and stunning mountains, Kernersville is ideally situated for you to take advantage of all destinations in North Carolina.

You may have heard of Kernersville because of our mix of faith-based, charitable, governmental and privately-owned organizations and businesses providing the services we need. It’s no wonder our community message is to “Discover YOURville in Kernersville!” You can always find something of interest in our town.

A key component of a healthy community is employment opportunities. Employment continues to be enhanced by large employers such as Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center, Deere-Hitachi Machinery Corporation, FedEx Ground, Herbalife, Highland, Best Logistics Group, and the VA Kernersville Health Care Center. New small businesses and restaurants continue to pop up all over town. We are very fortunate for the many opportunities that our town offers.

If you or anyone you know needs assistance, Kernersville has supportive organizations that will help. Nonprofit human services organizations such as CareNet Counseling, The Shepherd’s Center, Crisis Control Ministry, Next Step Ministries, the YMCA and others are available and ready to help in any situation. Kernersville is home to “Kernersville Cares for Kids,” an effort to encourage positive peer group interaction for middle and high school students to avoid drug and alcohol use.

As you can tell, we are sold on Kernersville! Our Chamber is interested in both the economic and quality-of-life aspects of the community. Kernersville offers many of the features of larger communities, with a warm, welcoming small-town feel. Despite a steadily growing population base, you never feel crowded in Kernersville – except at our premier downtown street festival, Spring Folly. With its entertainment stages, delicious food and fun for everyone, the event draws a crowd of 30,000+ people each May.

Kernersville’s downtown continues to thrive. Dozens of well-kept historic homes, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places, line the streets of our historic district. Anchoring each end of the historic district are the Körner’s Folly (built in 1880) and the Railroad Depot (built in 1873). The Kernersville Museum is situated in the middle of town to continue the historic legacy of Kernersville. During the Christmas season the town is adorned with Blinkie Lights, a product of a homegrown business with worldwide distribution. Just a few blocks away on the south side of town are larger stores and several shopping centers. Shopping in Kernersville is all inclusive; everything you need can be found here.

As your 2019 and 2020 Chamber board chairs, we invite you to “Discover YOURville in Kernersville!” Browse through the pages and see what Kernersville has to offer you. Kernersville will be the place you want to live, bring friends, do business and have fun.
