The residential growth in Morrisville has created an overnight boom in the need for quality daycare and preschool facilities. Three daycare facilities in our community currently provide early childhood education from birth to five years of age. Sterling Montessori, a Wake County charter school, offers pre-kindergarten in addition to a full K-8 curriculum.
The Wake County Public School System is the second largest in the state and the 33rd largest in the country. Children can attend traditional year-round or magnet schools within the county. Base school assignment is determined by the residential street address, but year-round and magnet schools can be applied for and are selected by lottery.
The university and college opportunities in the Triangle are plentiful. Duke University, NC State University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – to name a few – are all within a 30-minute drive. In addition, Wake Technical Community College, Campbell University, Strayer University and DeVry University offer a full-schedule of courses and continuing education classes – frequently in conjunction with major employers.
