Wilkes County is a hub of diverse business and industry. The county is the birthplace for Lowe’s Companies (with $26 billion in revenues), Gardner Glass Products, East Coast Millwork Distributors and Interflex Corporation. The largest employer, Tyson Foods, has over 3,400 employees. Wilkes has one of the largest certified industrial parks in the state, 552 acres with water and sewer in place.
