Residents and visitors alike benefit from local roadways and major highways that provide links to surrounding communities and neighboring states.
U.S. Routes 6 and 24 handle heavy volumes of east/west commerce and passenger traffic, and Ohio state Routes 18 and 281 handle the southern tier of the county.
North and south traffic is accommodated on Ohio state Routes 65, 108 and 109.
State Routes 110 and 424 offer a more scenic view of the Maumee River and cater to a slower pace. State Route 424 (running between Napoleon and Defiance and through the village of Florida) has been designated as one of a precious few officially recognized “Ohio Scenic Highways” — and for good reason. Route 424 is a treat to drive anytime of the year. Route 424 winds along the north bank of the Maumee River. It is still heavily wooded and features peaceful scenery you have to see to enjoy. It’s a cruiser’s dream! Henry County is less than an hour away from the bustling Toledo Express Airport, and the county has its own airport five minutes southeast of Napoleon with a growing volume of private aircraft usage.
