Jackson County has well over 100 motel rooms available for travelers through the county. Almost all of the lodging is located in the city of Jackson, where five of the six motels are located. The national chain motels are Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Knights Inn and the Red Roof Inn, while the Jackson Motor Inn and Myers Motel in Wellston are operated independently.

In Franklin Township on Four-Mile Road, there is the Cabin In The Woods, a three-bedroom bed and breakfast and close by is the Four Mile Bakery, operated by the Mennonites.

The city of Jackson offers the most variety in restaurants, from the upscale and family restaurants to the fast-food restaurants that line the city.

The Colonial, Dakota’s Roadhouse, Ponderosa and Bennigan’s, all in Jackson, have space for gatherings of people who wish to have dinner with their meeting. All three offer a wide variety of menu items.

There are also catering services available in the community, and in all of Jackson County, there are more than 35 restaurants.

Apple Festival

Jackson County residents love to celebrate, and there are plenty of opportunities to do just that every year.

Jackson is home to the Jackson County Apple Festival the third full week of September each year. This festival is considered to be one of the finest festivals in the State of Ohio and people travel from all over the Midwestern United States to attend.

Although the city of Jackson has only around 7,000 residents, the Saturday Night Grand Finale Parade, the largest lighted parade in the state of Ohio, draws annually between 70,000 and 80,000 spectators.
