Parks and Recreation

Recreation abounds in Medina County. The area is dotted with excellent parks and rec facilities operated by local municipalities and the County.

The City of Medina’s Parks & Forestry Department oversees 12 parks totaling 800 acres. Popular features found throughout these sites include a disc golf course, a municipal pool, a splash pad, a skate park, a dog park, athletic fields and courts, pavilions, trails and much more.

Outstanding recreational programming for residents young and old are offered through the Medina Community Recreation Center. The facility features a 24,000-plus square foot field house, leisure and competition pools, an indoor 1/12-mile track and a well-equipped fitness center. Among its catalog of programs are fitness and wellness offerings, arts & crafts classes, athletic leagues and camps, aquatics and many others.

The region’s recreation needs are also met by the Medina County Park District. The park district manages nearly 30 parks, nature preserves, environmental centers, trails and other facilities located throughout the county. Its list of programs and activities is exhaustive and includes geocaching, outdoor education, hiking programs, fishing, nature photography and much more.

In addition, the greater Medina area hosts a number of golf courses and country clubs. More than 20 courses are positioned in and around the area, including Weymouth Country Club, Rustic Hills Country Club and Bunker Hill Golf Course.
