The Vandalia-Butler City School District serves both Vandalia and Butler Township residents. There are three elementary schools for kindergarten through fourth grade, two middle schools for fifth through eighth grade and a high school for ninth through twelfth grade. The Miami Valley Career Technology Center provides vocational programs for both adults and high school students. St. Christopher’s, the local parochial school, serves kindergarten through eighth grade. The Living Word Christian School will open in the fall of 2005 to serve students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

The ITT Technology Institute offers both two-year and four-year degree programs in technology and business. Two-year associate degrees, transferable to four-year institutions, are offered in programs at Sinclair Community College. Several institutions of higher learning (including law and medical schools) are located within a short drive of the Vandalia-Butler Township area – including Antioch College, Central State University, The University of Dayton, Wilberforce University, Wittenberg University and Wright State University. These schools offer a wide variety of degrees and continuing education programs.
