We're not the only ones convinced of our business success. Our local economy represents a variety of categories including manufacturing, agriculture, education, healthcare, retail, telecommunications, and government. Manufacturing plays a major element in the region’s economy. Auglaize County alone boasts in excess of 6,400 industrial jobs in companies from small machine shops to major international firms.

Moving goods and services in a timely, cost-effective way is crucial to business success. Companies need raw materials and parts readily available. They need fast, low-cost shipping options for finished goods. At the intersection of I-75 and U.S. 33, Wapakoneta is truly at the heart of America’s Midwestern markets. Companies in Wapakoneta are ideally positioned to reach U.S. customers and export internationally. Our great location helps companies lower costs and increase profits.

The Ohio Job Ready Sites Program, authorized by Ohio voters in 2005, was created to increase Ohio’s inventory of available development sites fully served by utility and transportation infrastructure. Wapakoneta was selected as one of Ohio’s new Job Ready Sites grant recipients in 2006. The $1.9 million grant completed the 700-acre West Central Ohio Industrial Center at I-75 and U.S. 33. It is currently the largest rail-served, greenfield industrial park in Ohio with sites ranging from four to 470 acres.

Wapakoneta's location puts it at the center of the 12-county, West Central Ohio region with a labor force of nearly 400,000 people. Interstate 75 and U.S. 33 provide an easy commute to work from any area in the region. Our tradition of hard work combined with the excellent educational opportunities in the region ensures a ready and able labor force for area companies. The residents of Wapakoneta and West Central Ohio have a strong work ethic. Our people enjoy what they do and take great pride in their work. j
