Downtown DuBois is adorned with the best of both new and long-time family-owned restaurants. The entire area has a wide selection of dining options, from country clubs to chains to specialty shops. Along Liberty Boulevard and Brady Street (explanation: Liberty Blvd. becomes Brady Street in the downtown section) one will find a number of establishments to suit any occasion. Nationally recognized chain restaurants, regional favorites and one-of-a-kind restaurants line the streets, making it easy to stop off from a casual stroll down the street.

The Fort Worth Restaurant and Hotel serves beef from locally owned Palumbo’s Meat Market, providing quality meats in an elegant setting. Fine dining is available at several area resorts and country clubs, including the DuBois Country Club, which features the Tannery Bar and Grill. Treasure Lake Resort’s Lakeview Lodge offers fine dining in a relaxed resort atmosphere.

To accommodate travelers, DuBois has a number of lodging services, ranging from trusted, economical family hotels, to historic beds and breakfasts.

Several hotels in the area, such as Best Western Inn, Quality Inn, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn—soon to change its name, all provide the amenities that a weary traveler needs. The Inn at Narrows Creek boasts of some of the finest accommodations in Central Pennsylvania. Built in the style of an 18th century New England country inn and tavern, the Inn has several antiquely decorated rooms, and enjoys a relaxing rustic setting.

In addition to the fine shopping and dining, area organizations host many fun events all year long. There is an international food festival, Monte Carlo night, chamber luncheons and golf tournaments and more. In the summer, each county has a fair, accompanied by other outdoor festivities.

The DuBois Festival of the Arts, the annual Fourth of July celebration in Brockway, the Ag and Youth Fair in Sykesville and Thrills in the Hills are always popular local events. Many residents’ heritage is observed at the St. Michaels Polish Festival and the area’s Oktoberfest, while fun is first as everyone recognizes area volunteer firefighters with the Sandy Township Fireman’s Carnival and Community Days.

Anywhere in the DuBois area, one can find a number of events that celebrate what life is like in the community, for all ages and interests.
