The many successful businessmen and women in the county are no doubt tied to the high-quality education here. From outstanding school districts — some award-winning — to the high-caliber of higher education offered, the communities of Eastern Montgomery County have access to it all.

Eastern Montgomery County takes great pride in the fact that it is home to many of the state’s top school districts. Several of its schools have earned acknowledgement as National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, and their students and faculty regularly earn awards and recognition, as well. Abington School District has earned recognition as a National Service Learning School by the White House, as well as being cited by Money magazine as being one of the Top 100 Schools Districts in the U.S. in “towns you can afford.”

Students whose preference may be a high-quality alternative to the traditional public school route are impressed with the assortment of private, parochial and charter institutions established in Eastern Montgomery County. Abington Friends School (AFS) and Bishop McDevitt High School are prime choices for private secondary education.

Traditional and adult students alike are afforded a variety of higher education selections in Eastern Montgomery County and its surrounding areas, with four-year universities, two-year colleges and public as well as private schools right at their fingertips. Excellent degree programs are offered through such area schools as Penn State-Abington, Arcadia University in Glenside, Temple University-Ambler, Manor College in Jenkintown, Salus University in Elkins Park and Montgomery County Community College.
