Nestled in Western Pennsylvania, a mere 12 miles east of the major city of Pittsburgh, Monroeville is comprised of approximately 19.5 square miles in Allegheny County. The municipality’s ideal position in the region affords easy access to many of western Pennsylvania’s popular attractions. Access to Monroeville is made easy by the connecting intersection of Interstate 376, Route 22 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Also winding through the community are U.S. Routes 48 and 130, providing for a connection to the other major roadways.

Free parking is available all over Monroeville, and for the visitor, the Convention Visitor’s Bureau offers shuttle bus service to many of the area’s popular sites for guests staying at member hotels.

Bus service is available through the Port Authority of Allegheny County, which provides transportation to downtown Pittsburgh, as well as sites across Allegheny County. What’s more, a score of park-and-ride lots span the Monroeville community.


Monroeville is less than a 90-minute airplane ride from 20 states and Canada, and within 45 minutes, residents can access three airports, each offering commuter flights daily.

Pittsburgh International Airport sits approximately 45 minutes from Monroeville and provides daily flights through a number of major airlines to points throughout the country and the world. Forty minutes away, heading east, is the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, affording daily flights through Northwest Airlines. Connecting to Detroit, flyers coming from Arnold Palmer have access to countless sites throughout the world. A 12-minute ride will get commuters to the Allegheny County Regional Airport, which hails as the fifth busiest airport in the state.
