Monroeville’s government takes pride in its progressive attitude toward the management of the community.

Fire Department

The municipality is a Home Rule Charter community, encompassing a seven-member council, an elected mayor and a municipal manager. Working together, the council, mayor and municipal manager aim to increase the standard of life among residents, businesses and visitors in the area.

The Monroeville Police Department is comprised of 51 sworn officers within five divisions — Special Operations Division, Detective Division, Traffic Division, Patrol Division and a K-9 Unit. Making over 18,000 service calls annually, the department also heads several community programs, such as Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) programs, safety programs and neighborhood and business crime watch programs. Additional public safety comes from five volunteer fire departments that serve the residents of Monroeville.
