Transportation and Location

The Upper Bucks region is located within a one-day drive of one-third of the American population. This eastern seaboard location means easy access to major east coast markets including, the Lehigh Valley (Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton), Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, Newark, Boston, Baltimore, Wilmington and Washington D.C. You will find immediate access to several major thoroughfares within the heart of Upper Bucks – the Pennsylvania Turnpike (476, 676, 76), Interstates 78 and 95, U.S. Highway 1 and State Routes 309, 313, 663, 611 and 202 all provide major access to strategic markets.

Public general aviation services are offered through the Quakertown and Pennridge Airports. The Quakertown Airport, operated by the Bucks County Airport Authority, features a paved 3,200-foot runway with full taxiway, hangars and tie-downs, air services facility and a terminal building. Maintenance, repair service, fuel and flight instruction are all available. The Pennridge Airport, located just south of Quakertown offers a 4,200-foot asphalt runway capable of jet landings and offers 100LL and Jet A fuels. This airport also offers tandem and accelerated free fall skydiving experiences. Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown offers 25 nonstop flights through four airlines. Philadelphia International can be reached within one hour from anywhere in Upper Bucks, while Newark International in New Jersey can be accessed in less than an hour and a half.
