contentsSusquehanna Valley PA Chamberads

First-class educational opportunities are around every corner in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. The communities in this Central Pennsylvania region are well-served by notable public and private schools, from preschool through 12th grade, and several outstanding technical facilities and institutions of higher learning.

Numerous daycare and early childhood education centers are available throughout the Valley, as are a multitude of public and private institutions offering preschool, primary and/or secondary education. The majority of K-12 students in the Greater Susquehanna Valley are enrolled in one of several public school districts. The Danville Area, Lewisburg Area, Line Mountain, Midd-West, Selinsgrove Area, Mifflinburg Area, Shikellamy school districts and Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit are among the high-performing school districts serving the region, collectively supplying exceptional academic and social opportunities to the Valley’s student population. While each school is different, many provide a long list of excellent curriculum aimed at preparing students for college or entry into the workforce.

In addition to gifted programs, advanced placement, special education, fine arts instruction and athletics, many high school students are afforded the option of dual enrollment through area technical schools, including SUN Area Technical Institute, Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School and Northumberland County Career & Technology Center. These facilities also offer adult education, vocational education and technical career training in the community. High school grads and adult learners are also provided career-focused technical training, resulting in a diploma or associate’s degree, at Triangle Tech and McCann School of Business & Technology, as well as undergraduate studies through the Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn College), an affiliate of the Pennsylvania State University.

On top of these options are several liberal arts institutions located throughout the Greater Susquehanna Valley region. Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn State University in State College and Bloomsburg University are all readily available for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.

The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce is now partnered with the Penn State World Campus to provide a Corporate Alliance Program to our Chamber members and their employees. With access to more than 100 online courses, this program will provide a 5% tuition reduction on online degrees or certificates as well as access to academic advising, career counseling and a financial literacy staff that specializes in serving working professionals. For more information, contact the Chamber at (570) 743-4100.
