West Chester was voted Best New Shopping District by Philadelphia Magazine and Frommers.com placed it in the Top 10 for Best Small Town Downtowns. There are several malls in the Chester County area, including the Gay Street Plaza Shopping Center, the Goshen Village Shopping Center, the Westtown Village Shopping Center, the Bradford Plaza Shopping Center, the Hersheys Mill Village Shopping Center, the Commons of Thornbury Shopping Center and many more.

West Chester is also home to a variety of restaurants to please even the pickiest of eaters. The area overflows with quaint coffee shops and bakeries, but on the other end of the spectrum, the borough also offers the chance to frequent the many pubs, breweries and sports bars. Italian, Japanese, Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Thai and many more ethnic eateries are available, but American favorites and chain restaurants aren’t absent from the dining landscape, either. There are elegant restaurants worth dressing up for and friendly neighborhood bars where jeans are the main dress code. Many restaurants offer a take-out menu, too, for those nights when you just want to relax at home in front of the TV. Whatever you crave, West Chester can certainly satisfy your hunger and mood.
