Education

Easley is served by the School District of Pickens County, one of the top rated school systems in the state. Crosswell, Dacusville, East End, Forest Acres, McKissick and West End are the six elementary schools located in Easley. Dacusville and Gettys are the two middle schools and Easley High School serves the area. In standardized tests School District of Pickens County high school students scored an average of 22.6 on their ACT, 1.5 higher than the national average and an average SAT score of 1523, 23 points higher than the national average.

Easley also has several opportunities for continuing education. Clemson University, the state’s second-largest higher education facility, offers over 100 undergraduate and over 75 graduate programs, including: Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences, Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Affairs, Health, Education and Human Development and Engineering and Science.

Southern Wesleyan University in Central is a four-year liberal arts college with over 35 undergraduate degree programs. Founded in 1906 SWU is Christian faith-based school, providing understanding of the liberal arts for its students. It is sponsored by the Wesleyan Church and also servers the community with concerts and cultural programs.

Tri-County Technical College serves the citizens and employees of Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties. It is one of the 16 growing, dynamic institutions that comprise the nationally recognized South Carolina Technical College System. As a leader in electronics technology the school has become a major resource for businesses and industry. Along with career programs the school offers a university transfer program for several schools in the area, as well a high school and ROTC programs.
