Shop Local — Dine Local — Be Local

Edgefield County is a popular stop for antique collectors, with shops to satisfy every taste, from fine antiques to pre-owned treasures. For those who wish to make a weekend of it, there are several bed and breakfast inns, as well as more traditional overnight accommodations.

Johnston “A Peach of a Place” business district combines contemporary businesses with small town “mom and pop” stores. That small town atmosphere that many Americans consider the South. Churches, antique stores, banks, retail stores, family owned restaurants and other businesses are abundant here.

Edgefield Community Development Association is continuously striving to promote Shop Local. Downtown Shop-a-rounds, movies on the town square and community events all help to showcase Edgefield’s unique downtown merchants. From artist galleries to antiques to retail gift shops, Edgefield has something for everyone. Shop, Dine, Linger in downtown Edgefield.

Trenton – although has no downtown shopping per say – has its reminiscent “Mayberry” feeling. They have a fantastic Library/Visitors Center in the downtown area along with a beautiful downtown square where you can sit, relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful town.

Edgefield County is also one of the sponsors for Peachtree 23 – 50 miles of yard sales - where finding your treasure is up to you. Peachtree 23 runs from Batesburg –Leesville to Monetta, Ridge Spring, Ward, Johnston, Edgefield and ends in Modoc, South Carolina. (along South Carolina Highway 23) The first Saturday in June is the date of this event. Won’t you come find your treasure on Peachtree 23!

Edgefield County also offers many dining experiences as well as shopping experiences. From casual lunches to fast food places, from fine dining experiences to intimate settings while listening to locals play music – all offering a relaxing evening of enjoyment for the whole family.
