Chamber Introduction

The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce is more than 1,600 members strong and committed to helping the business community thrive and prosper. Whether it’s networking opportunities, referrals, governmental advocacy, workshops or helping to attract more than two million visitors, the chamber is dedicated to giving members a tangible return on their chamber investment.

MISSION “To advance the common interests of our membership, stimulate the expanding regional economy and enhance the quality of life for all.”

This results-oriented approach has earned us the National Chamber of the Year award in 2000 and 2006. The chamber is also one of only 172 Destination Marketing Organizations worldwide that has achieved accreditation through Destination Marketing Association International. This success is a direct result of member participation and support.

Your chamber is comprised of 23 full-time staff members in six different areas of focus, bringing you innovative member benefits and programs that provide measurable returns for your business.

The Communications Division facilitates all internal and external communications for your chamber. The department designs and produces print and web-based membership communications, including the Membership Directory and Chamber Business Monthly. Additionally, the department serves as the liaison for our public relations firm and fields all local and national media requests and hosts visiting journalists and broadcast crews.

The Finance Division works to maintain the financial stability of your chamber and to establish operating policies and procedures that will secure financial integrity. Additionally, this division implements personnel policies and procedures and manages the chamber’s technology needs.

What happens in government impacts the business community. The government affairs division works with officials at the local, county, state and federal level as the voice of business for the region. They work to help members understand legislation that affects their organization and how to get involved and stay informed.

Membership Development focuses on providing benefits, programs and services to members. The division strives to help businesses utilize their membership while maximizing member retention and opportunities to grow their business.

The Visitor & Convention Bureau is the destination marketing arm of your chamber. This division works to increase quality tourism through its marketing efforts, to cultivate convention and group business and strives to improve awareness and understanding of the economic and social contributions of tourism to the community. It also provides destination information to visitors, meeting planners, travel industry professionals and the media, while fostering professionalism and ethical business practices throughout the tourism industry.

The goal of the Workforce & Education Division is to implement programs and initiatives to play an active role in the area’s business education partnerships, prepare students and jobseekers for the workplace and to ensure the stable economic base of our region by helping our members recruit, retain and develop their workforce.
