Working with the Chamber

The chamber’s success is a direct result of member participation and support. To make the most out of their investment, members are urged to get involved to build a better business community for everyone. The chamber is in partnership with our members to make Hilton Head Island and Bluffton a phenomenal place to live and work. For more information on committees, please call Cristina Kirby at (843) 341-8374.

Our Small Business Council serves as an advocate for small business members, with a focus on companies with 10 or fewer employees. It also energizes the chamber’s overall efforts to meet the needs of its diverse small business community. The council hosts small business workshops, sponsors the “Shop and Dine Local” campaign and presents the annual Small Business of the Year award.

Business Education Partnership Committee

The Business Education Partnership Committee invests in the future of the region through support of education initiatives. Two key initiatives are the Golden Apple Program and Project Connect. With member support, the Golden Apple Program gives perks and discounts to private and public school personnel in Southern Beaufort County. Project Connect links businesses, organizations and individuals with public school classrooms that are in need of items or services. The program is co-sponsored by The Island Packet newspaper.

The chamber’s Hilton Head Island Marketing Council offers additional strategic guidance and direction for Hilton Head Island’s tourism marketing efforts. The council represents cross-sections of the Island’s diverse travel and tourism industry including golf, homes and villas, arts and culture, accommodations, attractions and meetings. Its structure reflects the chamber’s long-standing commitment to securing membership input.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee works on community awareness and community action on the most pressing public policy concerns facing the region. The Government Affairs Committee consists of the Affordable Housing, Immigration and Transportation committees.

The Bluffton Marketing Committee promotes the Bluffton region by developing marketing materials and partnering on events to help bring visitors to the area. Events such as The Inn at Palmetto Bluff’s “Music to Your Mouth,” now in its fifth year, which highlights southern chefs and cuisine, and “The Bluffton Seafood Festival” which draws both culinary and art lovers to the region, are just a few example of the projects of this committee.

The Bluffton Regional Business Council represents the interests of the entire region by focusing on the rapidly growing business sector in Bluffton and the surrounding area. The council is led by a steering committee and has three active committees; Member Services, Community Beautification and Tourism & Marketing.
