Health Care in Laurens County

Laurens County is blessed with an excellent healthcare system and an expanding hospital staffed with excellent physicians is only the beginning. From the new Kids Klinic to Senior Options, young and old alike will find a commitment to quality and a level of caring unmatched in the Southeast.

In today’s world of healthcare delivery, the Laurens County Health Care System is changing and growing, but never forgetting our true commitment to serve the community. Since the hospital opened in 1989, it has kept its promise to provide quality healthcare with a personal touch. Because we know and care about our patients, we feel a deep responsibility to offer personal attention the Laurens County community deserves.

In addition to caring for patients, the Laurens County Health Care System is a state leader in providing innovative and informative education programs in an effort to teach the community how to stay well. Because we believe good health is everyone’s business, the hospital and community are at the forefront of redesigning and redirecting the way we work together as partners for a healthier Laurens County. In continuing this tradition, the Laurens County Hospital has just expanded its facilities to include a state-of-the-art Women’s Life Center as well as an enlarged Emergency Room to meet the growing healthcare needs in our county.

Today, Laurens County Hospital operates at a capacity of 76 acute-care beds and 14 skilled nursing beds. The hospital retains more than 460 full- and part-time employees and 60 volunteers, in addition to an active medical staff of 55 physicians and 35 consulting physicians.

In addition, the new Women’s Life Center is designed to provide a warm, supportive experience for new moms and their families, with five spacious, warmly appointed labor/delivery/recovery birthing suites adjacent to 10 well-equipped suites for post-partum care and other ob-gyn needs. Post-partum rooms will be conveniently located adjacent to the new Birthing Center. There are two additional triage/treatment rooms in the same area and a special c-section/GYN surgical suite right on the premises, ready for immediate access.

A special facility within the walls of The Women’s Life Center offers educational programs of special interest to women of all ages. Ongoing programs for preadolescent girls, prepared childbirth classes, breastfeeding classes, maternal child programs and even a sibling class top the list.
