The arts are alive in Allen with three established community organizations ready to serve and entertain Allen residents and the surrounding communities throughout the year. Allen is everything but culturally repressed. With the many entertaining events and organizations in Allen, you will not have to travel far to hear established guest musicians who are renowned in their instrumental fields, or to visit historic landmarks preserved in their original condition. Whether it is participation in community arts events, preserving a piece of Allen's history, or relaxing to the rich sounds of a full orchestra, the arts in Allen has a place for you!

The Allen Arts Alliance sponsors events such as Sunday Sound Series, Summer Sounds and Autumn Rhythms, a fall outdoor concert series. The Allen Arts Alliance aims to promote, nurture and celebrate the arts in the City of Allen and has established itself as the city's leading arts organization commissioned to assist all arts-related endeavors. The Allen Arts Alliance Board will provide ongoing funding sources to nurture arts development and to celebrate creativity. Board members are appointed by the City Council and they determine the community's desire and needs in regards to the arts.

Established in October 1997, the Allen Philharmonic Symphony is in its fourth season of providing symphonic music for the Allen community. The 70-member orchestra, lead by conductor/music director Chris Xeros, performs on Saturday evenings to a sold-out auditorium of 670 patrons at 8 p.m. in the Becky Lowery Freshman Center Auditorium, 601 E. Main St. Reservations for the concert series have steadily increased to sold out performances.

In Allen, the Heritage Guild facilitates the construction of Allen's positive image, while preserving its history and sense of community. New residents and interested persons are invited to join in such projects as the construction of historical landmark signs and the rebuilding of a replica of the Old Train Station, a class project of Leadership Allen.
