Brownwood Regional Medical Center

Brownwood Regional Medical Center is a 194-bed acute care hospital that is accredited by The Joint Commission and is one of the largest regional medical centers in Texas. The hospital is home to a dedicated and experienced medical staff of over 24 medical specialties ranging from complete obstetrical care to advanced surgical services including orthopaedic, urology and many more specialties. Brownwood Regional Medical Center has been Caring for Generations since 1969.

Advanced Imaging

As the need for healthcare continues to grow, so does the need for progressive, state-of-the-art imaging technology. Brownwood Regional Medical Center’s Radiology and Imaging Services provides physicians with high-quality visual information about illnesses and injuries for use in patient care, treatment and diagnosis. Brownwood Regional Medical Center opened the Brownwood Regional Medical Center Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center in November 2010. The Outpatient Imaging & Breast Center provides patients a comfortable and convenient location to receive imaging and radiology care including Digital Mammography.

Cancer Care Close to Home
Located within the Brownwood Regional Medical Center complex, the Walker Cancer Center is the only facility in an 80-mile radius offering the sophistication of Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology services. The Center includes offices for radiation and medical oncologists, examination rooms and treatment areas. A highly skilled staff of physicians, nurses and therapists provides comprehensive outpatient cancer care in a comfortable, convenient and peaceful atmosphere. Working together with the cancer center’s team of oncology professionals, Brownwood Regional Medical Center’s staff of healthcare professionals helps patients to return to their normal daily routines following treatments.

Primary Care, Rehab & Fitness
In addition, the community has many primary care providers to care for every member of the family, and if a specialist is needed, patients will find just what they’re looking for — right here at home. Whether the patient is staying in the hospital or receiving therapy in preparation for their return home, or using the facilities on an outpatient basis after school or work, there are a wide variety of quality rehabilitation and fitness services available in Brown County. The Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Brownwood Regional Medical Center is a wound care center designed to prevent and treat chronic or hard-to-heal wounds. Led by the center’s Board Certified physicians, the multidisciplinary team consists of healthcare professionals working together in collaboration to create an atmosphere of trust and comfort while delivering comprehensive wound management. —

Central Texas Veterans Health Care System — Brownwood Campus
The Brownwood VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), part of the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, provides area Veterans access to a variety of health care services. Services available to eligible Veterans include primary care, women’s health, mental health, laboratory and X-ray. Patient education classes are offered for a host of topics including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, tobacco cessation, nutrition, anger/stress management and post traumatic stress disorder.
