Location and Transportation

They say the three most important factors in selecting a site for business are “location, location, location.” Welcome to a community with all three …

Location: Opportunity

Market, business and workforce opportunities abound, as the Brown County Trade Area draws from a population of more than 82,000 people and includes eight counties.

The right location opportunity exists for practically any business. Brownwood’s Camp Bowie Industrial Area and Early’s Small Business Incubator Facility have land and buildings for light and heavy industry, manufacturing, warehousing and service. High-visibility commercial and retail properties capture traffic on major thoroughfares. Downtown Brownwood provides historic buildings with unique charm and beauty.

Local and state incentives support expansion and relations opportunities for new and existing companies.

Location: Access

Brown County is centrally located, an easy drive (3 hours or less) to or from: Dallas/Fort Worth, Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Midland, Abilene and Wichita Falls. This ensures easy access to markets across Texas, the Port of Houston, Mexico and the East and West coasts. Brownwood and Early sit at the crossroads of four state highways: US 67, US 84, US 183 and US 377. Interstate 20 can be reached in 50 miles while Interstates 10 and 35 are about 100 miles away.

Rail service is supplied by BNSF and Fort Worth & Western, and short rail service is provided by Texas Rockcrusher Railway.

Brownwood Regional Airport supports private air traffic with after-hours Jet A service and 100LL available 24 hours. The main runway is 5,600 feet long by 150 feet wide for VOR/DME/LOC approaches. For commercial service, Abilene Regional Airport is only 75 miles away.
