Duncanville is home to a host of entertainment and cultural attractions that will keep the family busy all year-round.

Duncanville Community Theatre, located at 106 S. Main St., brings independent, quality live theater to Duncanville and all of the Best Southwest area. Founded in 1988, the DCT produces a variety of shows annually; the season runs June 1 to May 31. To find out what is currently in production, visit

DCT is featured on the cover and was renovated in the fall of 2007. Citizens and guests have enjoyed superb Community Theatre productions for 27 years. In addition, the Summer Concert Series is held each year in the Poe Hobden Amphitheater in Armstrong Park – compliments of the City of Duncanville.

The International Museum of Cultures is a rarity in its category – a museum that captures the imagination of children as well as adults. Dioramas, both life-size and miniature, give a glimpse of far-flung areas from Papua, New Guinea in the South Pacific to Ecuador and Peru. It’s an exciting place and its colorful gift shop contains items from exotic corners of the world.

Red Bird Skateland offers the Summer Social Skate and roller hockey, and is available for birthday parties. Red Bird Bowling Lanes offers league play and is great for birthday parties. The Chamber also holds its annual “Burgers, Bowling & Business” there. The city and local civic clubs offer a number of city-wide special events and activities throughout the year.

Of course, every Christmas in Duncanville is kicked off by the Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony, and in February, the Lions Club holds its annual Las Vegas Night – featuring entertainment, door prizes, auction, food, faux gambling and a chance to hold fellowship with friends.

The Duncanville Lions Club hosts the Fourth of July Parade in conjunction with the City’s Fourth of July Stars and Stripes Celebration.

Fall is the time for the annual Duncanville Rotary Club Fish Fry and the annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. Both are time-honored community events with great food.

The Duncanville Chamber of Commerce hosts “Big City Music Revue.” It is a concert night with Sean Mitchell & the Big City Music Revue and a live auction between performance acts.
