Chairman's Welcome

Welcome to the City of Duncanville.

Duncanville is a highly successful & proud community, conveniently located just nine miles from Downtown Dallas and within 20 minutes of Fort Worth. Abundant with parks and recreational amenities, restaurants and cafes, access to great medical facilities and a thriving business community, residents & visitors consider Duncanville a great place to live, learn, play, work and do business. Accessible from I-20 and Highway 67, you will find a small “hometown” Texas atmosphere and can still take advantage of everything that the booming Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex has to offer.

Nicknamed the “City of Champions” based on its long tradition of academic and athletic excellence, you will find high-quality educational opportunities and tremendous learning facilities within the school district and other regional establishments. With a history of basketball supremacy in the state, Duncanville has become the basketball capital of Texas with several tournaments throughout the year including the Sandra Meadows Classic, Great America Shootout and many more.

In Duncanville you will find clean, safe neighborhoods plus affordable housing and a business community that encourages entrepreneurship and is conducive to “small business” development. The minute you walk into any store or business, you will immediately sense the warm, friendly community atmosphere found only in Duncanville!

At every corner in town, you will also see gorgeous flower beds and beautiful trees welcoming residents and visitors alike. Named a “Tree City USA” community, there are 16 parks, miles of biking and walking trails, state of the art recreational facilities, a five-minute ride to Joe Pool Lake, a number of nearby golf courses. Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to do in or around Duncanville.

Together, the school district, City of Duncanville and Duncanville Chamber of Commerce have built a community that we can all be proud of for years to come and a town that lives up to its name ... the City of Champions.
