Henderson Economic Development

Henderson Economic Development (HEDCO) is the economic development organization for the Henderson/Rusk County area. HEDCO began in 1992 and is funded from a half-cent sales tax dedicated to economic development. Our mission is the expansion of basic employment in this area through retention of existing business and attraction of new business. Land is available as well as incentives for job creation. Retail is a vital part of economic development, although as a 4A organization, HEDCO monies cannot be spent on retail. Retail is essential in creating a larger tax base in order for HEDCO to achieve our mission of retaining and creating manufacturing and industrial jobs. Contact HEDCO at (903) 657-9146, or e-mail: for information on job incentives, land, buildings and other tax incentives.
