Il-pon-be-ne-hol-le. Come visit us.

On behalf of my people, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas, I want to welcome you to Polk County, which has been our home for over 150 years. We are proud to call this area our home and it is our hope that you will take the time to visit us and our neighbors in Livingston and the surrounding communities. We are extremely proud of our history and our connection with the county and the state of Texas.

If you are looking for a place to relax, try our Lake Tombigbee Campgrounds, with its 26-acre lake for fishing and swimming. The campground has primitive to full hook-up sites, as well as cabins, or you may want to experience a night in a tipi.

Join us as we celebrate our heritage and culture with the annual PowWow, which is held on the first weekend of June, and the music festival and fireworks during the 4th of July holiday.

Again, we welcome you to the area and invite you to make Polk County your home or just stop by for a visit. We know you will not want to leave once you get here.

Il-po-he-cha-to-ka! Come see us!
