City of Livingston

city hall

As mayor of the city of Livingston, I appreciate your interest in our community. Livingston is a great place to vacation, visit or live. With its small-town friendliness, convenience and absence of urban hassle, Livingston (the county seat of Polk County) is still large enough to offer excellent shopping, medical care, schools, churches and restaurants.

Our location, in close proximity to the 93,000-acre Lake Livingston, offers the ultimate in fishing and water sports. As the largest timber-producing region in the state of Texas, we have excellent deer and bird hunting, and the wild turkey is making a good comeback.

Livingston Municipal Golf Course offers a nine-hole facility, and city owned baseball, soccer and softball fields; walking/jogging trails, and two large parks complete the recreation picture.

The Livingston Trade Days shopping weekend is an interesting shopping venue, and features general merchandise, arts and crafts. Held at the Trade Days facility in the city-owned Pedigo Park, several hundred vendors gather in an old-time trade fair setting during this monthly event.

Those of us lucky enough to live in Livingston value our lifestyle, but we are not selfish—you are invited to visit or join us in living here.
