Regardless of family income, newcomers are sure to find a place to call home in Lubbock’s diverse neighborhood subdivisions and rural properties. Prices of homes in new subdivisions can range from $60,000 – $90,000 for a single-family dwelling.

Homes in southwest Lubbock can range from $140,000 – $600,000 depending on amenities desired. Kingsgate, Kingslake, Kingspark and High Ridge II are highly restricted neighborhoods of newer quality homes that command the high price that the names of their additions suggest. More established neighborhoods like Redbud, Melonie Park and Raintree have affordable housing ranging from $70,000 to $125,000. Tech Terrace, conveniently located south of Texas Tech University, seldom has houses on the market beyond a few months. Homes in this addition range from $40,000 to $200,000. Young family subdivisions to the northwest of the campus offer affordable housing in the $50,000 to $65,000 range.

Rural properties with acre lots are available throughout the area and range from $100,000 to $200,000. If a lakefront home is more to your liking, then Lake Ransom Canyon or Buffalo Springs Lake is the place for you. Rental housing and apartments are available in concentrated areas of the community with a particular emphasis near the Texas Tech University campus. New apartment complexes are currently under construction in neighborhoods east, north and northwest of the campus to accommodate the increasing student population.

As more of the country’s senior citizens become aware of the pleasant climate, excellent medical facilities, lower tax base, cultural offerings, and friendly environment awaiting them in Lubbock, retirement communities are rapidly springing up throughout the area to keep up with the demand.
