The growth of commercial and industrial development in Mansfield over the last 10 years has put the city in the national economic development spotlight.

With its plan to grow the city’s residential population succeeding, city and community leaders then focused on bringing retail, commercial and industrial development to the city to provide jobs, improve quality of life and balance the city’s tax base. Its business-friendly environment and innovative approach to planning, development and city services has been attractive to major corporations looking to grow its market share in a quality community with explosive growth and attractive demographics.

The city dedicates a half-cent of its sales tax toward economic development, assisting business and industry in expanding infrastructure such as roads, water and sewer to areas of the city for new development. The city also successfully markets the community to developers and business leaders nationwide to encourage growth in new industry and business, as well as works to retain existing businesses by assisting them with expansion and training.
