The tradition of educational excellence continues to prosper in Marshall. Marshall Independent School District (MISD) serves more than 6,000 students each year. There are six elementary, two Head Start, two middle schools, a junior high school and a high school in the district.
Several institutions of higher education serve the Marshall area. East Texas Baptist University is a four-year Christian university. ETBU offers 10 degree programs with 30 different majors in a variety of fields.
Wiley College is a historically black, primarily liberal arts college that grants baccalaureate degrees. It is affiliated with The United Methodist Church.
Texas State Technical College offers certificate and associate degree programs, specializing in new and emerging technology. The college also provides workforce training and college credit courses for high school students.
