Mesquite’s Bent Quality Of Life Initiative Excellence
More than 34,000 students attend one of the many schools (elementary through high school) within the Mesquite Independent School District (MISD). Named a Texas Recognized School District by the Texas Education Agency for the past three years, MISD delivers quality and caring education. Nearly 50 percent of the teachers in the district hold master’s degrees, and student test scores continue to exceed state and national averages. A number of pre-schools as well as private and parochial school options are also available.
High education (including specialized certification, undergraduate and graduate degrees) can be pursued at a variety of nearby institutions — including Texas A&M University, Eastfield College, Southern Methodist University, The University of Texas at Dallas and Richland College.
