At the northeast corner of Loop 250 and Business 20, this 100-acre community park includes the William-Sam Memorial Skate Park; softball, soccer, football, cricket and baseball fields; basketball goals; a fishing area; picnic tables and a pavilion; and seven ranch buildings.

BMX Bike Track
2101 East Cuthbert

The BMX bike track at Midland’s Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park didn’t cost the city a cent; it was built by volunteers using dirt from other city projects. In addition to being popular with enthusiasts from Midland, the track is sanctioned by the American Bicycle Association, allowing the city to host regional and statewide competitions. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the track.

Hogan’s Dog Run

West Texas MX park is a red dirt track with many challenging sections for both the big boys and little guys. The track is open to the public for practice on Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon. Memberships are also available and allow additional access.

Midland’s first outdoor skate park spans 18,000 square feet and features a 5 to 8-foot combi-bowl, a wide-open basin, an 8-foot open bowl, a mellow pyramid and a volcano among the challenges for skateboarders.

Since beginning as the City of Midland Swim Team more than three decades ago, COM Aquatics has trained dozens of swimmers who qualified to compete at the Junior National and Senior National levels, NCAA Division 1 swimmers, and many who have competed in Olympic trials. The COM Swim Team and the Dive Team offer all levels of competition and a variety of team participation opportunities for all skill levels.

Greater Midland Football League

The league offers tackle football for grades three through six in Midland County. Regular-season games take place on Saturdays at CJ Kelly Park.

Midland Junior Baseball Association

Midland Junior Baseball provides Little League baseball for boys and girls ages 8 through 16 and T-ball for boys and girls ages 5 through 7. Spring registration is held in January–February and fall registration in August–September.

Midland “Mad Dog” Rugby Football Club

No Experience Necessary! All comers with basic gear and a good attitude are welcome to attend a practice from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mad Dog Rugby formed its first scrum in 1976. A member of the Texas Rugby Union, the Western Rugby Union (regional) and USA Rugby, the Mad Dog season runs November through April, and tournaments are held in the summer.

A training ground for polo ponies since 1962, the Midland Polo Club features tournament play on Sunday afternoons in the fall. Interscholastic teams compete with other schools throughout the United States. There is no admission charge for games and practice sessions.
