Places to be still. Taylor enjoys a rich cultural heritage. Several historical churches, established in the 19th Century, stand today as a testament to the city’s values and spirituality.

St. Mary’s School opened in August of 1896 to 80 students. It is the oldest Catholic school in Williamson County. St. Mary's is part of the Diocese of Austin.

The Shepherd’s Heart is a ministry to people living at or below the poverty level in and around Taylor. It is the benevolent arm of Christ Fellowship Church, and operates in partnership with the Taylor Area Ministerial Alliance, which provides volunteers and shares the cost of food. More than 20 churches and organizations participate in the community food pantry.

CrossPointe Community Church offers an outreach program called Angel Food, which offers inexpensive quality groceries. Thirty dollars will buy a box of groceries containing more than $70 worth of meats, vegetables and other food that will feed a family of four for a whole week.
