As mayor of a city full of friendly faces, rural charm and good ‘ole country living, I welcome you to the City of Colmesneil. When you arrive you will find yourself surrounded by large pine trees and those beautiful spring dogwoods Tyler County is known for. Some things you will not find are traffic lights, traffic jams or smog.
Colmesneil is just a small city (pop. 638), full of folks who are raising kids, pursuing careers and enjoying retirement. Located between Beaumont, Lufkin, Jasper and Livingston, we are less than an hour commute for working, a night in the city lights or a day at the lake.
Residents and visitors also enjoy hunting, fishing, swimming, dining, “mom & pop” stores and family festivals right in our own back yard. All these amenities, combined with a state-recognized exemplary school district, make Colmesneil a great place to settle down.
If you love the hustle and bustle of the big city, we are not the place for you. But, if you love things like swimming in a spring-fed lake, family picnics on the 4th of July, old time syrup making in the fall, and being greeted by passers on the street, then stop by next time you are passing through. You will feel like you have known us forever and may decide to stay forever!
Mayor Don Baird
